XBLA Game Room|Classic arcade action on the Xbox 360

Are you a fan of retro arcade and console games? Do you want to write a review of your favorite old school game? Has the Xbox LIVE or Games for Windows LIVE provided you with the opportunity to replay the classic arcade and console games of your youth? Just wanted to provide some clarification on when you can expect to see new games up on Game Room, as there appears to be some confusion around that area. New games will be added to the service every week, starting in late April.

That should give everyone enough time to have a look over Game Room and play a majority of the games available in the Showcase Arcade or even a friend’s arcade. It will also allow Krome Studios to fix the bugs that are plaguing the system, including missing achievements and server issues.

There are a lot of new arcade rooms out there right now! All of them virtual; but still charging credits/tokens. Some users even say that their new High Scores and bragging rights defeat the previous old school records; and that has lead up to some new rivalries on the Xbox 360 and Windows PC! A rivalry that will probably be re-written in the next few days as an hour of shame for one group or another in the retro arcade that is Game Room.

Seemingly it doesn’t matter as much as it did back in the 80’s, as we all own a console now and it just seems right. In fact, it seems that the Intellivision (who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary) and even Atari 2600 are making a comeback thanks to Microsoft and their LIVE service for both the Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
