On Wednesday, March 24th, Game Room will bring players a library of 30 original arcade and console classics from Activision, Atari, Intellivision, Konami, and others, including Centipede, Asteroids Deluxe, and Super Cobra shown in their original cabinets. Over the next three years, more than 1000 games will be released on Game Room.
Game Room replicates the old-school look, sound, and feel of a retro video game Arcade. Players will open up a brand new social environment for their Avatar to explore, where they can personalize their own game room by arranging cabinets, and decorate each room with themes and animated mascots.

Krome Studios’ creative director Steve Stamatiadis has said that Microsoft’s upcoming Game Room, which the studio is currently creating, could become the equivalent of iTunes for videogames.
"I think the thing is that you’ve got a whole range of stuff that people can’t get any more," he said, speaking to GamesIndustry.biz. "It’s a way of getting these arcade games legally and authentically – that’s a big plus. It’s like having iTunes – you’ve got music that you can’t find albums for, but you can now go and buy it. This is just a different version of that for games."
