Krome Studios lays-off staff

Krome Studios Australian developer Krome Studios, Australia’s largest developer, has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it has been forced to axe more staff due to economic pressure. The studio is one of the largest independents in the world, employing more than 400 staff across three locations in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.

"We regret to confirm an unspecified number of positions have been eliminated today at Krome," said a spokesperson for the company. "The industry worldwide is facing new challenges and Krome is not immune to the effects of this. Beyond that, we cannot make a comment."

Night Stalker revealed for Game Room on April 28th

Night Stalker from Intellivision and Mattel for Game Room on Xbox LIVE on the Xbox 360 or Games for Windows Live on Windows PC Exclusively revealed HERE by the XBLAGameRoom.com staff and straight from the mouth of Intellivision themselves, comes the news that Night Stalker will be one of the seven games released for Game Room in the first game pack. Game Room not receiving new games until late April

Game Room for Xbox LIVE on the Xbox 360 or Games for Windows Live on Windows PC Just wanted to provide some clarification on when you can expect to see new games up on Game Room, as there appears to be some confusion around that area. New games will be added to the service every week, starting in late April.

That should give everyone enough time to have a look over Game Room and play a majority of the games available in the Showcase Arcade or even a friend’s arcade. It will also allow Krome Studios to fix the bugs that are plaguing the system, including missing achievements and server issues.

Game Room for Xbox LIVE on the Xbox 360 or Games for Windows Live on Windows PC On Wednesday, March 24th, Game Room will bring players a library of 30 original arcade and console classics from Activision, Atari, Intellivision, Konami, and others, including Centipede, Asteroids Deluxe, and Super Cobra shown in their original cabinets. Over the next three years, more than 1000 games will be released on Game Room.

Game Room replicates the old-school look, sound, and feel of a retro video game Arcade. Players will open up a brand new social environment for their Avatar to explore, where they can personalize their own game room by arranging cabinets, and decorate each room with themes and animated mascots.
